MEET OUR DRAMA COACH!

Natalia Barry is an actress and a student of the last year in Scientific-Literary Translation at Lenguas Vivas "Juan Ramón Fernández". She has delivered drama workshops since 1999 in institutions such as Centro Universitario de Idiomas, Programa Lexia Buenos Aires, and within her own project, Tomato Spirit Clubs. She has worked as an actress, playwright and director for over 25 years, both in Argentina and abroad (in Bolivia, Spain, Germany and Portugal).
Currently, she delivers presentations and personal impact workshops in-company and works on her piece "To Be or Not To Be... from the South", an autobiographical play in English, on the translation and acting of the classics. This play was presented at several academic venues such as "Congreso Internacional de Lenguas Extranjeras, Lenguas Vivas" and "Celebrating Shakespeare, Universidad de La Plata", both in 2015, and will be part of "Encuentro Regional de Profesores de Inglés de La Pampa" and FAAPI, both in 2016.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The course will be open to both teachers and students (intermediate level of English and above).

The course will be organised around three dimensions, which will be tackled chronologically, namely:

• • June: expanding the possibilities of the body
• • July: expanding the expression of the voice
• • August: exploring the creative use of space and props.

At the same time, three concepts will be dealt with throughout the course, integrating the aforementioned aspects continuously:

• • Dramatic organicity: what is an harmonic movement, action and voice on stage
• • Dramatic conflict: the origin of dramatic tension on stage
• • Theatricality: what fuels an interesting scene
